Great expectations have been formed of. the coming appearance of this famous band, under the direction off Messrs J. and N. Tait at the Town). Hall to-morrow evening at 8.15 o'clock. Extensive preparations arei being arranged for giving the band at great welcome. It has been written: of the "Besses" that no matter whether! in big overtures, selections andt marches, or in the beautifully simple* hymn-tunes, they obtain in all theiit pieces perfect tonal quality, perfectprecision,' and highly skilled instrumentation. One of the many features of their programmes is the excellent* solo, duet and trio work accomplished by the leading soloists of they "Besses," who rank as the foremost* players in England. Exactly hpwr much is due to the personality of their* conductor, Mr Alexander Owen, is not easy to define, albeit it is obviousthat this great leader has the fullest confidence in every man under histbaton, and is as fully conuded in. Audiences have sat entranced, carried' away by the marvellous playing. This is no fable, but actual fact, an<l' therefore the advent of this wonderful musical combination is eagerly looked forward to.
