Mr Long, president of the Trades and Labour Council, said tliat the class struggle in New South Wales was likely to find a parallel in New Zealand shortly. _ Mr Manning, secretary of the New Zeaalnd Miners' Federation, denounced the actionof the New South Wales Government in arresting the strike leaders. He also contrasted the prices obtained by the miners for hewing and those by the owners when the coal was sold. The State mine had reduced the price by "6s per ton to the public, notwithstanding what was said about the wages paid.
