A SHEPHERD KILLED.

ASHBTJRTON, Jan. 4. On Monday morning a young man named James Johnstons, 18 years of age, a son of Christopher Johnjstone and in the employ of D. G. Wright, Surrey Hills, went out shepherding, and on his not returning in the evening a search party was sent out, and found his horse without its rider about tour miles from the homestead, and Johnstone was subsequently found dead near the horse, on a small hill. No cause can be assigned for the tatahty unless the horse stumbled and threw the deceased, who was a steady man and conversant with the country, lhere is no suspicion of foul play. '
