Amongst the passengers who l«ft Wellington on Friday by the Sydney boat was Mr F. W. McLeod, of Masterton, who intends to settle in Cobar, New South Wales, where he has been appointed conductor of a musical organisation. Mr McLeod took a leading part in all musical affairs in Masterton. He was for several years conductor of the Municipal Brass Band, piloting it to distinction on many occasions, particularly in the North Island band contests. The Knox Presbyterian Church choir, of which Mr McLeod was choirmaster
for som© years, joined with the congregation in presenting both Mr and Mrs McLeod with valuable tokens of
esteem, whilst the Orchestral Society, which also had some experience of Mr McLeod's assistance, presented the departing guest with a souvenir, in remembrance of his services. Mr MoLeod acted as judge at the Blenheim Jubilee Band Contest.
