[press association.] (Received Oct. 6, 9.35 p.m.) ...■■:■ s OTTAWA, 0ct...6, Captain Bernier, who has returned after taking possession of Banks Land and. a number of new islands for Canada, publishes a letter from Dr. ■Cook, written on May 15th, giving iufl-aetails of his journey to the Pole. sPhe letter contains serious charges -against Peary, to the effect that he had sought to deprive Cook of his ■stores, and had forbidden Eskimos to search for Cook's party. Bernier himself left stores which enabled Cook to reach Uperavik.
