The Arahura was still detained in Westport last night, consequently there will be no Wellington steamer sailing to-day. The Blenheim arrived at 4.45 a.m. to-day from Wellington. In crossing the bar the vessel did not touch bottom, an improvement on recent conditions. Mr Jelley, formerly mate of the s.s. Pateena, has been appointed chief stevedore at Wellington for the New Zealand Shipping Company. Mr Rothery, lately third officer of the Pateena, has. gone to Lyttelton for orders. Mr Birch has joined the Pateena in his stead.
