GOVERNOR'S CANDIDATURE WITHDRAWN? [PHEBS ABSOCIAMONr] (Received June 10/ 0.5 a.m.) SYDNEY^ June 9. Considerable trouble exists between: a section of the Freemasons over ther eledtion of Grand Master! When Lord Chelmsford became Governor it was suggested that her should receive the position, but Mr Nesbitt, Town Clerk of Sydney, insisted that-he had a prior claim, andl informed Lord Chelmsford to thai; Effect. The latter did hot reply tor liis letter, but sent it to Grand Lodge.i Subsequently the Governor' com-; plied with the request of a deputation to allow himself to be nominated :r but to-day withdrew his name! Another candidate will therefore btt ■ nominated to oppose Mr Nesbitt.
