Tho Hon. Mr Hogg stated yesterday that since taking over the portfolio of Labour the conditions of labour had been exceedingly satisfactory. Very few urgent cases for assistance had come under his notice. Some new arrivals, not acquainted with the conditions, found some difficulty in obtaining employment. At present some five thousand men were working under the Roads and Bridges
