CHRISTCHURCH, April 22

For the Cifcy Council of Greater 'Christchureh there- are 26 nominations for 14 scats. A new feature in the contest ia the strong labour element, of vhich representatives are contesting every ward. For the Central Ward there are ~en candidates for four seats, and for the Sydcnham AVar.d eight for four. The labour candidates are fighting a most energetic campaign. FEILDING, April 22. For the Mayoralty Messrs S. W. Fitzherbert and AY. j. B. Trewin (the present Mayor) are nominated. For nine vacancies on the Council thirteen nominations have been received.
