The Hon. A. W. Hogg, Minister for Roads and Bridges, has ordered a motor lorry for the Roads Department, Avith the object ,of enabling roads to be installed as rapidly, and as economically as possible. The motor (says the New Zealand Times) conveys the metal to the place required, dumps it out, and the wheels, acting as rollers, oonsolidate the metal as it falls. The road is tints made straight away. If this type of motor lorry proves to be the success anticipated, and is suitable for New Zealand road formation, more of the machines Avill be imported by the department.
