The competitor gaining the highest aggregate of points in events number 3, 12 and 21 will secure a leg-in for the Gold Medal, value £10 10s (presented by the late H. Dodson), to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals. Points to count: First 3, second 2, third 1. All entries must be made on the forms of the N.Z.A.U., or the League of New Zealand Wheelmen, which may be obtained on application to the Secretary. Letters or telegrams bearing date of nomination or acceptance will be accepted, but any entry made by wire must be coriirmed according to the rules of the above bodies, before the competitor can be handicapped. All athletic events will be conducted under the rules of the N.Z. Athletic Union, and competitors' attention is especially dr.wn to Rule 15 of the 9° nstjtution and 13 of Regulations, i.e., lhat every .competitor must be registered ana entry fees paid before competing,, otherwise he is liable to disqualification, and will receive no prize money." Any race may be run off in heats at the discretion of the committee. When an event is contestxl in more than two preliminary heats the first and second shall run. in the final, it an event is contested in two preliminary heats the fir,t, second and third shall run in the final. All events of a distance of 150 yards and fesswill be run off in tapes. Ihe Committee reserve the right to have any competitor re-handicapped after publication of handicaps. Nominators must send m their last two years' performances (private matches included), and if they have not competed within the time they must send in their last four performances.
