(Received Nov. 19, 9.45 p.m.) . LONDON, Nov. 19. In the match Australian League v. the Northern Union, Devereux scored early for the visitors, but Messenger failed to convert*. The Northerners shortly after equalised the1 scores. Fierce play followed until the Northerners were penalised, enabling Messenger to kick a goal. Holloway then secured a try, but Messenger's shot at goal failed. On resuming, the Northerners, despite the fact that they were playing two men short owing to injuries, scoped two tries, but just upon time Messenger kicked another penalty goal, leaving the Australians winners by one point.
