LONDON, Oct. 31.
The Times's Belgrade correspondent says that the demand for territorial compensation on the part of Servia is admittedly beset with difficulties. If the difficulties are unsurmountable, Servia will urge that the annexation question-remain open, and be riot submitted to the conference. It is thus hoped that so long as Europe does not ratify the annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Servian,,demands have a chance of being considered.
The Morning Post's St. Petersburg correspondent mentions that an effort is being made to secure the postponement of formal recognition of annexation by resisting Austria's demand for recognition as a prerequisite to a conference, which will then collapse, and relieve Russia of the unpleasant necessity of proposing the abandonment of the conference. This explains the simultaneous statements. ■■' ' . ;' |, The Times's St. Petersburg oorresrondevat states that M. Isvolsky's.position is at present secure.
