SATURDAY'S MATCHES.
In the senior competition on Saturday, the Blenheim Rifles met the Marlborough Mounted Rifles at Vernon, the ranges being 600 and 700 yards. , The light was bad at the longer range and the wind tricky, the result being that some of the marksmen "cracked up" badly. The Blenheim Rifles won by 48 points. The shooting at Waikawa, where the Sounds and Tua Marina Rifle Clubs tried conclusions, was also poor, owing to the light and wind. Sounds won by 23 points, their total for the day being one behind the Blenheim Rifles'.
In the Junior Cup contest an exciting match took place at Marshlands between the Blenheim Rifles and the Tua Marina Rifle Club. At the conclusion of the two ranges ihf* scores were equal, and another round was fired,' the Rifles winning by one point. The Waitohi Rifles and the Seddon Rifle Club fired at Vernon, the Picton team winning by 101 points. At the 600 yards range Corporal Godfrey spoilt an excellent total (34) by put-
ting a bull's-eye on the wrong target. His score read : 55-5554 —29. Following are the scores : —
