NORFOLK ISLAND, Oct. 16. J©hn F. Young, a member of the Executive Council, was acquitted or a charge of being accessory before the fact to stealing a copper boiler oft the Bounty. A demonstration was made as a result of the trial, the islanders singing the National Anthem. MOUNT LYELL RETURNS.
■■.MELBOURNE, Oct. 16. The Mount- Lyell returns from September 10 till October 7 inclusive show ■that 30,173 tons of ore, treated also witth 1.8 tons of purchased ore-con-verters, produced 587 tons of blister .copper, containing: Copper, 580 tons; silver, 50,522 ounces; gold, 1142 -ounces. The decreased yield of blister copper is attributed somewhat to the lower tonnage mined and the slightly Slower assay values of ore. '
