FLOOD AT INVERCARGILL.
INVERCARGILL, Sept. 11. Heavy rain, in conjunctionwith high; tides and wind, banked tip the estuary and flooded the low-lying land. One house was surrounded.' Boats were washed out of the Avenal Rowing Club's shed, and the new Show Ground was under water. No serious damage occurred, however, and the water has now receded.
