BURGLAR WALKS INTO OFFICER'S ARMS.

CHRISTCHURCH, July" 20. About midnight on Saturday Sergeant Burrows' attention was called to a noise of breaking glass in Mr H. Tuck's shop an 'Colombo Street. On going to the place he found a broken window, at which a man appeared and was' promptly seized. On searching, him, twenty-one new halfpence were found, four bottles of whisky'and four tins of tobacco. The man was maTched to the police station.

■ The till 'was found to have been smashed, andfour more bottles were outside the window.
