Leonard Sutherland, of Winslow, was charged to-day with forging the name of Barney Kenny m a receipt in a railway-delivery book for a case of whisky,1 which he thereby ireceived. • The accused pleaded not guilty j and after evidence, for the prosecution had been heard decided to reserve his defence, and was" committed for trial at. the Supreme-Court at Timaru on August 7th, bail being allowed.
