WHAT WILL AUSTRALIA DO?
[PRBSS ASSOCIATION.] (Received June 27, 0.15 a.m.)
LONDON, June 26
The Anglo-Saxon Club entertained Mr Carruthers, ex-Premier of New South Wales, and Mr Davies, of Victoria. :
Mr Carruthers, in the course of ,a speech, said that Australia was destined to become a great nation in the East. He referred to the fact of the neighbouring nations emerging from their long slumber, and said that perhaps Australia would have to pay the penalty for the mistakes of the past. -Personally, he did not think that it would be a bad day for Australia when her manhood was put to the test.
