Cole was appointed to represent the branch at the New Zealand Alliance Convention. ■ ■Witt ,a, view :to having scientific temperance- placed on the syllabus of the State schools, Mrs Cole was empowered to approach the Minister for Education^ asking. that Sir Victor Horsley's book,1 "Alcohol and the Human Body,'' be used' &s a textbook- in the State schools.
