LONDON WOOL SALES.
CLOSING PRICES
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd;, are in receipt, of the following cable advice from their London office, dated 29th irst. :—
The sales closed firmly. _ As compared with last salesl' closing rates, prices are lower about 5 per cent, to 7£ per cent, for crossbred slipe and fine crossbred; prices are higher about par to 5 per cent." for crossbred lambs' wool.
Messrs Levin and Co., Limited, h&ve received the following cable from their London agents, the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, dated London, 29th May, 1908:— . The May sales have closed. Merinos and fine crossbreds closed at an advance of 2i per cent, on opening rates, and medium crossbreds at an advance of 124 per cent. Medium crossbreds suitable for America show an advance of 20 per cent. Coarse crossbreds closed at an advance of 17J per cent.

At the wool sales the amount catalogued to date is 154,500 bales; sold for Home use 86,000; "for the Continent 51,000; for America 6000; held over 12,000. Compared with March, superior greasy merinos were par to a halfpenny higher, good par to a halfpenny lower, medium a half-penny lower, scoured par to a half-penny lower. Fine greasy crossbreds par to a half-penny lower, medium and coarse a half-penny to a penny higher, scoured par to a half-penny lower. Following are the, average prices realised for the fleece portions of the clips named:—W.D. 6fd, Arapata 7|d.
