ARNST AND WEBB
[PEBSS ASSOCIATION.] (Received May 31, 4.46 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 31. Arnst is willing to accept Webb's conditions as regards deposits, but demurs .from the conditions laid down in respect to starting, and has written to Webb requesting a modification. \ [In the communication sent to Arnst in Webb's behalf, it is provided that the race shall take place on the Kaiwhaiki course, starting at four o'clock on Tuesday, the 15th December. To prevent a recurrence of the,long delay experienced at the start of the last race owing to Tresidder failing t<> arrive at the starting point until some twenty minutes after the appointed time, a proviso has been inserted making it imperative for both" scullers to be on the mark at four o'clock punctually. Should either man be late at the start it is provided that • he shall have -therefore forfeited all claim to the stake and the title.]
