WELLINGTON, May 1. Two women were to-day convicted of shoplifting from several business places, and fined £3 each, in default seven days' imprisonment. Both are the wives of respectable hard-working men. , . The chief detective said that a good deal of shoplifting had been going on of late. Goods were not only taken from the outside of shops, but people went in and stole.
