GROVETOWN LAND.

SOLD AT RECORD PRICES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that at the Central Auction Mar^; to-day they offered a block of rich agricultural land near Grovetown, comprising 20 acres, on account of the executors of the late A. Herd. There was a large attendance of buyers, and keen interest was taken in the sale. After spirited competition the following sales were made:—

Block 1, 3ac, 2ro. 31per., £101 per acre, to Mr D. Cameron, Grovetown. Block 2, Sac. 2ro. 14per. 3 £96 per acre, to Mr A. Herd, jun., Grovetown.

Block 3, llac. 3ro. 6per., £105 per acre, to Mrs A. Craven, Grovetown. There prices constitute a record for agricultural land in Marlborough, and give evidence of the faith of local residents in the fertility of the soil.
