A RECENT COLLISION

FIXING THE RESPONSIBILITY

AUCKLAND, May 2.. Mr Kettle, S.M., gave his decision in the Nautical Court to-day in respect to the collision between the Union Company's steamer Wairuna and the ketch Moon ah, in which a seaman named Fred. Smith was drowned.

tAt wrt was unaole to conclude that the Wairuna was in any way responsible for the collision, and was of opinion that the master of the ketch was solely responsible. It ordered costs to be paid by the master of the Moonah, and that his certificate should be suspended for six months.
