AFGHANS TROUBLED

CALCUTTA, April 27. The Mohmands have abandoned their position fronting Abazai and Shah Kadar, and have retreated to Bothaidag and Nirtgrabar. The sharkar of Hazamod was wounded, and his brother, the sharkar of Jellalabad, was killed. The Afghans are much troubled over their severe losses, but under the mullahs' persuasion small bodies continue to reinforce the Mohmands.
