A BLOW TO MR CHURCHILL.
SPEECH BY MR HICKS.
(Received April 21, 8.12 a.m.) LONDON, April 20. The Times says that, apart from the prospect of the loss of a hundred votes to Mr Dan Irving, the Sociaist candidate, the transfer of 500 to Mr Hicks must rather upset Mr Churchill's calculations, as he had great hopes of carrying, a solid Irish vote. Mr Hicks, in a speech, described the Miners' Eight Hours Bill as » tax on raw material, and the action of free-traders in supporting it as inconsistent. ■
