SUNDAY SERVICES.
At the Church of the Nativity on Sunday last special services were held, and the interior of the building was very effectively decorated for the occasion. Exceptionally large congregations participated in both morning and evening services, which were semi-choral. The, Yen. Archdeacon Grace was the preacher. Miss Bartlett sang Gounod's "Oh, Divine Redeemer" in the evening as an offertory.
. In the Methodist Church special sermons were preached, and appropriate music chosen. Large congregations listened both to the Rev. Mr Ranston, who preached upon the .Resurrection in the morning, and the Rev. Chas. Penney, whose subject in the evening was also appropriate to the season. During the latter service the choir sang the anthems "Awake up, my glory " and "Break forth into joy." In the Presbyterian Church the Rev. W. 0. Robb preached from texts suggesting the Resurrection.
At St. Mary's Catholic Church Easter masses were said as usual, the congregations being large.
