Referring ,to the cablegram of 1 March 6, which said that Mr Botha, Premier of the Transvaal, stated that the late President Kruger left 14,000 jsovereigns and 48,000 blue-backs, which were offered, to Lord Milner, then High Commissioner for South Africa, who refused to accept the money, Mr Botha now explains that President Kruger handed the' money to the late Government when he quitted the Transvaal, and it was expended by' the various commanders.
