V A girl of sixteen, named Lilian Bridge; the daughter of a dairy farmer residing near Maitland, was round butchered Jn a paddock to-day, her head being fearfully battered. > The weapon used was evidently a tomahawk or an axe.
a young . man named Green has been arrested on suspicion of having committed i)xe crime. . Miss Bridge, at the time of the tragedy, was en route to meet her younger sister, who is employed at the house of Green's father.
