PASSENGERS' TESTIMONY. [press association.] (Received April 16, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 16. At the inquiry into the loss of the steamer Bega, passengers gave evidence to the effect that the boat had a list when she left ,the wharf at Tathra. One of the boats, it was stated, was very leaky; the only bailer was a boot, and they had great difficulty in keeping the craft afloat. One passenger deposed to being handed a knife by a sailor and asked ito cut the painter of the women's boat. Other evidence was to the effect i that the Bega was carrying less cargo j than usual, and that it was well j stowed.
