The Queen of the South arrived at ricton this morning to load chaff for Jboxton. ■ , v The Mamari is due at Picton' on .Monday from Timaru to load a cargo ot meat and general produce for Lonoon.
The Patea Shipping Company's steamer Kapiti arrived at Pieton from Wellington to-day. Capt. E. Shaw, well-known locally as master of the JViripaka,, Blenheim, and Opawa, is in charge. ->■ Th? Opawa was expected to leave Wellington at noon to-day for Blenheim. She will work cargo all night, and sail from Lucas's farm at 5 a.m to-morrow. The Arahura, with Pollard's Opera Company on board, left Nelson at 7 i -mV to7 day and arrived at Picton at l.dU. A senseless rumour was afloat m town at noon that the Arahura was aground at- Nelson and would therefore not arrive. The Penguin has -been delayed', at Nelson tilf to-night for the convenience of those attending the races and consequently her departure for Wellington has been postponed till 5 a.m. to-morrow.
