THE YELLOW PERIL AGAIN.
An amusing comment appears in ,a recent issue, of the "Pekin and Tientsin Times" regarding an imitation, recently produced in Japan, of Messrs Lea and Perrin's celebrated Worcestershire sauce. JAPANESE "PIKEARTION' T OF LEA AND PERRINS' WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE. Suitable for "Roups," "Nrats " and "PALAD" DRESSING.\ We have just been shown a bottle of sauce made by the "well-known" firm Kirisu and Co., of "Lonponn," which seems at first sight a clever imitation of Lea and Perrin's. The Japanese ''manufacturers" claim that! their excellent and "original" ( f) \ '^pikearation" is very suitable for roups," meaning, we presume, suitable for soups. The following is the ■label:— Kirsin Original and Genuine Worcestershire Sauce The most Wholesons Pikearation being manufactured from the Best and Purest Opeiatal Ingreddirrts becomes a Condiment, appetising, most palatable and nntriatoua Teat being periat. It is Bd Pure and Nell Prepared that it may br nsed with all kida nt Hot and Gnld Nrats, Lamr, Roups, Ragouts, Btets, Chops, Steas, and Pier Cutlets, Grapios and all Palad Dressing, Tho see at a small quantity it is Calllciant to give a most Appetising Relish to all the Abroad Dishes. Sole Proprietors and Manupacturers Kirisu and Co., Lonponn Kirisu as prepared from the receipt of and influential gentleman of that country. That is a delightful touch about the "Opeiatal Ingreddirrts." Evidently, a new form of the "what is it" or "Gaseka" style of advertisement.— Pekin and Tientsin Times.
