TERRIBLE LOVE TRAGEDY.
FOGGIA (Romagna), Jan. 24. A terible love tragedy was enacted last evening at the little village of San Marco, in Lanio. A man named Saraceni had fallen in love with an attractive girl named Anastasia Martini, and the two were engaged to be married. Their parents, however, were opposed to the union. At first Anastasia resisted the parental decree, but finally she seemed disposed to renounce her dream of love. But not so Saraceni, who armed himself with a revolver; and sought out the girl m order to get from her a decided answer. It seems that the unfortunate Anastasia told him that she desired to .obey her parents, whereupon fearaceni, in an access of brutal anger, drew his weapon and fired, killing his sweetheart on the. spot. ■_ Still his revolver, Saraceni rushei to the Martinis' nouse, whore he met Anastasia's mother. Completely beside himself with tury, he fired twice, but without wounding her. The terrified woman rushed into her.dwelling, whither she was followed by Saraceni, who again nred, rhis time inflicting a mortal wound.
