(■Received March 18, 9.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 18. After seeing the representatives of the coastal companies, Mr Wade communicated with the president of the Waterside Workers' Union, and asked him to put before the strike committee a proposal to refer the dispute to arbitration. The committee declined to agree to this course,- but said that they were prepared to meet the coastal companies in conference.
