Mr Samuels, Examiner of Titles, has been visiting Blenheim. Mr A. Hobday, organ builder, Wellutgton, is at present in Blenheim attending to the St. Andrew's Church organ. His opinion is that the wooden walls at the back of the instrument become too heated. It is not so widely known as it might be that prebred Jersey cattle are being exported from Marlborough. Mr Chas. Coulter, of Hawkesbury, who has kept a registered cattle stud for some time, has just exported two .purebred bulls to the order of Mr A. Buchanan, the well-known Jersey breeder of Palmersfcon North. One is a yearling and fche other a three-year-old. Mr Goulfcer says there are numerous inquiries for his purebred cattle from all over the Dominion. The Hawkesbury barley, harvested some weeks ago, has turned out particularly well. The 59 acres averaged a yield of 38 bushels per acre. One paddock made 41 bushels, another 37, and another 36. This is much better than was expected, the Hawkesbury country being looked upon as extremely.light land. The securing of such a yield with a rainfall of less than <>ne ■inch from-October,to December, .inclusive, is" aft indication <>f superib atmospheric wealth.
