OBJECTION TO A " CON-
CILIATOR."
[PKESS ASSOCIATION.]
.WELLINGTON, Dec. 31. At a meeting of the Conciliation Board to-day, the shearers' dispute was called on. Mr J. C. Cooper, on behalf of the Farmers' Union, objected to the presence of Mr Andrew Collins on the Board as ho had taken an active part in the formation of the Shearers' Union, and said that the employers intended to take the matter direct to the Ciurt. At the same time> he said, the employers and the men : could arrange to settle the case amicably an a conference if no members of the Board were present. Mr Collins said that this was an attempt on the part of a paid representative if the Employers' Federation (Mr Pryor) to kill conciliation. He" did not mind, because he had plenty of work to do outside the Board, organising workers in the country as he did in the towns. The "sittings of the Board was adjourned until .iaiu..n iStii, when another meeting will be held at Blasterton. '
