THE WANGANUI SHOW.

[press association.]

WANGANUI, Nov. 13. Pleasant weather was experienced if or the first day .or the Wanganui Agricultural Show, which opened tc•day.

Though the entries did not come forward as anticipated, yet they were very large, and the Show both, in number and quality is a good exposition of the capabilities of the district. The attendance is very good, and the arrangements are all first-class. The horses, cattle and sheep all bear the stamp of fine quality, and the other live classes are well filled •with a good class of exhibits.

Produce, wool and grain drew few ■entries,... though what is shown is fairly good. Home industries, as usual, , provided a very hne display, and though there were not so many entries as last year, lost none of their popularity with the public.

The public schools entries were few and not particularly good, but magnificent is the only word to describe the technical school exhibits, which are an outstanding feature. Field Battery took first prize in the thorcugbred stallion class.
