RIFLE UNION MATCHES

The following senior marksmen will represent the Mounted Rifles in the Challenge Shield match against the Blenheim Rifles at Vernon on Saturday :—Chaytor, Soper (2), Stace, Henderson, Finlay, Robinson, Ward, Gane, Watson, and Tripe. The Mounted Rifles' junior team to fire against Waitohi and Tua Marina on the new Marshlands Range next Saturday, is as follows:—Nicholas, Farr, Cresswell, Gibson (2), Oben, Stewart, James, Prichard, Gaiie, Freeth, Batty, McArtney, Nicholas, Boyce and Drew. The following will represent the Renwick Defence Ri9e Club against the Blenheim Rifles' juniors at Renwick on Saturday next: —P. Tapp, J. Laidlaw, G. Hart, A. Fairhall, E. Cheesman, -W. Mills, H. Ching, W. Gee, W. Cook, L. Tapp; emergencies, C. Gee and R. Laidlaw. The following will represent the Blenheim Rifles in the Shield Competition against the Mounted Rifles at Vernon on Saturday:— Major Rogers, Captain Robinson, Lieut. O'Sullivan, Col.-Sergt. Hadfield, Sergts. Hammond and Hadfield, Privates Harding, Holdaway, Morrison and Taylor. The Blenheim1 Rifles' juniors fire at Renwick, leaving town at 12^30. Following is the team:—Sevgt. Jordan, Corpl. Heffer, Privates Grams, Logan, Lucas, J. and A. Hadfield, Jackson, Robertson, Broadmore, Elsmore and Ahem. _ The following will represent the l\m Marina Defence Rifle Club in the Shield and Cup matches on Saturday, the 28th inst.:—Seniors, at Picton:— Messrs W. Smith, W. Botham, F. W. 'Soper, A. Soper, J. Neal, H. Cuthbertson, H. Cheesman, T. Davies, J. Millard, R. Cresswell; emergency, P. G. Williams. Juniors, at Marshlands:—Messrs F. Drake, W. Patchett, J. Cheesman, A. E. Wilkins, A Boyes. E. Middlemiss, C Hat-sell, J. Gridlev. J- Eic-, C. Neal; emergencies, H. Neal and B. Worgc-r. The seniors leave by the 10.30 a.m. train.
