At the Addington live stock market to-day, there was again a large entry of almost all classes of stock, and a good attendance. * Fat cattle, except prime sorts, were easier, in consequence of another large yarding. 'Store sheep sold at about the ; previous week's rates. Fat lambs were firmer, and fat sheep, except old ewes, which were easier, showed no change in prices. Pigs were not quite so brisk of sale, as the supply was a heavy one. '■ '■' The entry of store sheep was not quite so large as last week, lambs and ewes forming the bulk of the entry. There was a fair demand for all classes, and prices showed practically no change. A fairly large entry of fat lambs was mostly of prime quality. There was good competition among the , export buyers,' and prices for prime lambs showed a rise of about 6d per head. Tegs made 17s 6d to 20s,'a few extra heavy at 225, standard weight 13s 6d to 17s, lighter 12s 6d to 13s. There was again a large mixed yarding of fat sheep, including a good por. tion of - prime ewes and wethers. These soki Jully up to last week's rates, there being a good demand for both wethers and ew<33 for export... Aged and inferior ewes were easier. A few pens of prime merino wethers sold well. "The range of prices was:—Prime wethers 19s to 225, lighter 16s 5d to 18s 6d, merino wethers 14s 3d to 16s 9d, prime ewes 16s 6d to 20s Id, medium 14s to 16s, aged 9s to 14s.

The entry of fat cattle totalled 324, the bulk being of prime quality. There was an easier tone in the market for medium and inferior sorts, but prime handy-weight steers and heifers sold ■well. A line of 24 North Island steers sold at £10 5s to £11 7s 6d. Other -steers brought £6 15s to £11 7s 6d, heifers £5 to £7 17s 6d, and cows £4 10s to £7 12s 6—equal to 23s to 26s for prime steers and- 20s to 22s 6d for medium quality per lOOlbs. A large yarding of veal calves made 4s 6d to 60. according to size and quality. Only a few small lots of store cattle were offered, and the sales effected did not form quotations. There' was a moderate entry of dairy cows, and they met with an improved demand, sales being made up to £8 15s. There was a large yarding of pigs, a large portion of the fats being of primp quality. They, sold at last week's rates, a^nd there was a good sale for stores. Baconers made 38s to 48s, and heavier 50s to 55s—equal to 4§d per lb; porkers 28s to 36s—equal to 4|d per lb; large stores 22s to 255, medium 15s to 20s, and weaners 8s to 12s 6d.
