DUNEDIN, March 12. * *ilar^? i on the iirst floor of the City Hotel burst between four * Jl^. 0 clock yesterday afternoon and flooded out the rear premises occupied by L. S. Donald, mercer, situated on the ground floor. The water accumulated on the floor above # small store-room in Donald's shop unobserved by anyone, and then burst through the ceiling by its skmr weight, and saturated nearly everything, in-cjfcding a shipment of hate imported just a week ago. The other .stock damaged includes hosiery, and overcoats, and altogether the value of the damaged goods is estimated by the .owner at £800.
