SPIRITED BIDDING. [press association.] TIMARU, Jan. 4. At the wool sale held here to-day the bidding was good all round, but very spirited for good half bred and bright clean crossbreds. Pieces were also keenly competed for. The top price obtained was 14jd for half-bred. The general range of prices was as follows:—Fine half-bred," 13d to 14£ d, medium lljd to 12d ;fine crossbred, 12d to 13Jd, medium IOJd to 11 id ; threequarter bred 11-^-d to 12d; Lincoln and coarse wools 9^d to lOJd; merino (very little offering), lOd to 10|d; half-bred pieces, 9Jd to lOd; three-quarter pieces Sd to B£d; bellies, Bid to 9d; locks, 5d to 6d.
