REDUCTION OF ARMAMENTS.
THE PROPOSED HAGUE CONFERENCE. ITALY SUPPORTING BRITAIN. [press association.] (Received June 15, 10.58 p.m.) ROME, June 15. The Italian Chamber cheered Signor Tittoni's re-echoing resolution and Sir Edward Grey's speech, cabled on May 10, in favour of simultaneous disarmament. , Signor Tittoni added that Italy would support Britain's generous initiative at the Hague. [In the House of Commons on May 10, Mr Vivian's strong resolution favr ouririg the reduction of'armaments was accepted by Sir Edward Grey (Foreign Secretary), who expressed the hope that it would influence other Parliaments. The motion was adopted without dissent, on Sir Edward Grey's declaration that Britain would take the initiative at the Hague Conference. What we were able to do at the Hague, he said, depended on the response of other nations.]
