PICTON NOTES.
(Our Own Correspondent.) Mr Millan, the new baker just started in Picton, has already met with several obstructions by the way. First the Master Bakers' Association requests him to join that fraternity ;next he has a spill; then he is requested to raise the price of his bread; next to stop delivering bread on Thursday. He gave in smilingly to all the demands, and to finish with, he has another break-up when both shafts of his cart got broken.. Let us hope that Mr Millan has met all his misfortunes early in his Picton career.
The Twentieth Century Gas Company are giving an exhibition of their light free gratis to Picton just now, in hopes that the Borough will support: their efforts. The light certainly appears to be of first-rate quality, and sheds a radiance far beyond any other light hitherto exhibited in Picton. Unfortunately, a full moon has been shining all the time, and that luminary has eclipsed the new illuminant to a great extent.
