AUCKLAND, June 8. The jockey Samuel Fergus, who met with an accident when riding Silicia in the Remuera Hurdle race at Ellerslio on Monday, died in the hospital last evening. Deceased was 37 years of age, and was well-known as a crosscountry rider. He leaves a wife and four children. A subscription list has been ivell responded to.
