CONSIDERATION OF THE PROPOSALS.
REFERRED BACK TO CABINET. I.PRESB ASSOCIATION-! (Received June 8, 1 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 7. After Cabinet consideration of the proposals for preference between New Zealand and the Commonwealth, Mr Deakin and Sir Wrn. Lyne further conferred with Mr Seddon this morning. The whole scheme was carefully gone through, and it was found necessary to refer it back to a special meeting of Cabinet, to be held after the opening of Parliament.
Mr Seddon, in consequence, has deferred his departure for Sydney till to-morrow.
