'Sir John Forrest last night gave a dinner .in honor of Mr Seddon. The guests included Mr Deakin,'Sir Win. Lyne, Sir Malcolm McEachern, and the High Court Judges. The speeches were of a complimentary character. Mr Seddon to-day visited Bendigo, and was welcomed by the Mayor and leading citizens. Subsequently a public reception was held. Mr' Seddon .visited places of interest. To-morrow Mr Seddon lunches with the Speaker of the Federal Parliament, and attends a meeting for the opening* of negotiations wjth M^ Deakin over: the reciprocal pVopbsals. These have been narrowed down to two or three issues of a somewhat important nature,; regarding w,hich possibly a compromise may be arranged.
