LONDON, May 18. Tn the House of Lords, Earl Beauchamp said that the Government proposed to treat the Bill exactly as in the House of Commons. It did not propose to take one side or the other, leaving the decision to the House.
Lord Londonderry declared that he was not surprised at the attitude of " leave it to you " of the Government.
Lord Ripon declared that the Bill was a coTisistent addition to the Aliens Act,
Lord LansdoAvne said that the promoters .were proposing further to load the dice, but if the Government assumed the responsibility for the Bill and would see it amended and made workable in committee, he would support the second reading. Lord Salisbury declared that the Government's action Avas a parody on legislation. •,
