The steamer Alexander, which arrived in Nelson early this morning from Picton, is to undergo a feAv days' overhaul. at that port before again proceeding to sea.
It has been decided that the Union Company's steamer Wairuna, hoav loading'3soo sacks of barley at Picton for Sydney, shall proceed on to Westport this evening to load 3500 tons of coal for the Admiralty.
The New Zealand Shipping. Company,l^ steamer Rakaia, which sailed yesterday for Timaru and Wellington to complete her Homeward loading, took the following cargo from Picton: —430 bales avool, 240 bales flax, 94 casks" talloAV, 955 sacks peas, 44 crates kidneys, etc., and 14,792 carcases mutton.
