ZEALAND. , TpHE Eighth Annual Sweepstake JL Pigeon Match for the Championship of New Zealand will be held under the auspices of the .New Zealand Gun Club Association. The conditions of the match are given below. The winner, in addition to 60 per cent, of the sweepstake, will be awarded the Championship Medal, presented by the members of the Marlborough Gun Club. The Match will be held on Messrs Redwood Bros.' Grounds, Spring Creek, near Blenheim, Marlborough, on THURSDAY, 31st MAY, 1906. The day following the Marlbqrough Gun Club's Annual £100 Handicap. Shooting to commence at 9.30 a.m. ENTRANCE FEE. An entrance fee of £3 for each competitor will be charged. Proceeds to be divided amongst the three highest scorers in the proportions set forth below. PRIZES. Ist—Championship Medal .and sixty (60) per cent, of Sweepstake. 2nd.—Cash, twenty-five (25) per cent.' of Sweepstake. 3rd.—Cash, fifteen (15) per cent, of Sweepstake. (The Cash Payments will be subject to-a deduction of 10 per cent, for expenses.) . CONDITIONS. Twenty-one (21) birds; twenty-eight (28) yards rise; sixty (60) yards boundary ; New Zealand Gun Club Association Rules. Competitors must be bona fide residents in New Zealand of not less than two (2) years' continuous standing, and must be members of clubs affiliated to the New Zealand Gun Club Association. Ties for Championship to be shot off, first miss to be out. No competitor allowed to shoot unless his bird money and entrance fee have been paid. When entering, competitors are requested to state the name of the club to which they belong. Entries to be made with E. H. Shootists allowed one star on first bird only, on payment of £1. Prises paid less 10 per cent., which is deducted for expenses. Nomination (£2) with performances for the last two years, to be lodged with the Secretary not later than SATURDAY, May 19, at 9 p.m. Handicaps published on Wednesday. May 23. ' Acceptances (£3) on the Ground on the. morning of the match. If time allows, other matches will be arranged on the ground by the Committee. CONDITIONS. All matches to be shoi under the New Zealand Gun Club Association Rules. No competitor to be allowed to shoot unless his nomination, acceptance, and birds have been paid. Two misses out.
